Well he was hitting .340 just five days ago... but yeah ugly.

For one, he has no protection because that may be one of the worst lineups in the majors so far this year, and I'm not sure that I see it getting better.

I don't care how little protection he has, it's pretty ridiculous that he hasn't hit a single home run in 140 at bats. You'd think by now a guy with his power track record would hit a couple out just by fluke. His overall numbers--aside from his average--are grotesque. Nine runs, a .700 OPS. This is not what I paid for. What is wrong with this chump?

The Indians definitely need to do something with that lineup, and with the amount of extra pitching they have, I think they will sooner or later. I'm not really worried, VMart will be what you paid for in the 2nd half and down the stretch in the playoffs.

I remember what was it 3 years ago when he had similar problems in the first half. Everyone on this board was crying and then he turned it on in June/July and smoked all the other catchers in MLB. I think he will be okay, especially for a catcher.

I'm definitely happy not to own VMart. Everyone hates Mauer for having no pop either this year at least his BA is extraordinary and he leads in catchers in runs and has driven in the 7th most runs. VMart has just been useless all around.

I took VMart and Posada in my league thinking I had catcher locked up. Posada has been hurt and Martinez has been AWFUL. No homers and 9 runs scored?! I would say he might be a good buy-low candidate but I already own him...

It's my fault guys. For the first time in a long time I took a C in the third round (pick #34) and had to grab VMart instead of waiting another 20 rounds to get a Mike Napoli.
