Why cant the Yankee's and Mets play a double header like the brewers and Redsox?

As to why they don't do a double-header, my guess is because they don't have to. For Milwaukee to play in Fenway again would mean a special East Coast trip with travel time, jet lag, and everything else. For the Mets to play the Yankees on another day just means they have to take the subway... 7 train to the 4/5. They could fit it (and all the surrounding hype) back in anytime.

And the Mets have a double header on Tuesday in Atlanta. They are off Monday but having 2 double headers in a matter of 4 days is unfair.

Yeah, Mets didn't want to. They're going to make it up during their next series. It's going to be a crosstown double header, which is kind of cool.
