IMO, Gio will be excellent, but won't be great in the majors for another two to three years or so. He'll be the Marcum/ James Shields of 2011. And that's a long way off.

He may not have the control necessary to make it, though.

pretty bad comparisons considering the two pitchers you mentioned basically have strived BECAUSE of their control.

I just read on mlb.com that with Blanton being shipped to the Phillies and Oakland getting Cardenas, Gio will likely be called up to fill the 5th rotation spot. How do we think hes gonna do in the majors right now?
