These Trades vetoed???!!??

Postby wingman3110 » Fri May 16, 2008 1:17 pm

Ok these 2 trades just got shot down in my league by league votes.

1st trade
Team A gets Joey Votto and Team B gets Robinson Cano....not in no way vetoable, right?

2nd trade
Team gets Adrian Gonzalez, Carlos Gomez, and John Danks and Team B gets Jose Reyes and Matt Capps... maybe this shouldve been vetoed but still I think it was pretty fair as Gonzalez and Gomez will make up for Reyes.

What are your guys' thoughts??

You can't veto a trade just because there is a winner in it... you can't touch either unless there's proof of collusion or something.

Thats my thoughts exactly. I was pissed off, I proposed them again to the owners so hopefully they will go through this time.

What kind of league (how competitive) is it?

Who are the parties involved and what is their relationship to each other?
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

Its a friends league that is fairly competitive. The only thing is the last place team is trading away Reyes and Capps to the first place team. The two parties involved are just friends and in no way I dont think are trying to make one team better/worse.

Dont know if that makes any difference.

How many votes are required to veto? If it's less than half the league, DURR. Change that right away.

Demand to know who vetoed that first deal, and ask the commish to have the publicly flogged. Ridiculous.
