Jeff Clement's future position?

With Johjima signing a 5-year deal, does anyone think Clement will be the primary catcher or will he just DH or move Sexson to the bench next year?

I would rather have him in the DH position with the "C" eligibility than him becoming the everyday catcher. As of now he is DH'ing and playing backup for Johjima, which means he is almost playing every game. This is very valuable for fantasy since most catchers average only around 130 games a year.

But if the rumored trade of Griffey goes through, then we likely play just as back-up to Johjima.

so then it's fair to say that over the next 3-5 years he'll average less than 1/3 of his games at C, barring injury to KJ?

My eligibility rules are much stricter than Yahoo.

Yeah I can't see them re-signing Sexson. And assuming Vidro's option (plate appearances) doesn't vest, then both DH and 1B could be open next year. With Johjima extended I can't see Clement catching very much (defensively he's not ready to catch every day anyway) barring injury. Unless the organization has a real change of heart about Clement's D and trades Joh (though IMO that's pretty unlikely being that Joh's recent extension apparently came directly from ownership and not the front office).
