GREAT deal for Bedard on your part. As a Bedard owner, I would not do that deal even if Bedard came out and said he would be only 85% all year.

His average fastball was just a tick a below 95 last season. This year it's 93 mph. His velocity is down significantly from last year...*cough* Bonderman *cough*.

I drafted Verlander in the 5th rd. I am holding on to him. They say it is a mechanical issue he is working out. When he fixes it completely he will be fine. If you don't need SP then maybe look to deal him, but in the back of you mind you need remember at any point (and I think he will) he can turn it around and be one of the best SP in the game.
I don't need SP and like I said I am in a holding pattern and I run him out their every 5th.

Check this situation out
Bedard
Verlander
Harang
Snell
Lowe
weekly 2 starter (this week Lester)
After drafting, I thought I was set. 3 SP studs, 2 solid guys and a stacked offense.
Now I sit in last place, go figure.

Not only do I have both Bedard and Verlander on one of my teams, that team is (was) also graced with the presences of Phil Hughes and Manny Corpas. Oh, and Andruw Jones.

i've been watching Verlander today against the M's. Velocity looks fine, 95-97, but his fastball is straight as an arrow and no one is missing it. His breaking stuff is always wildly in the dirt. All the hitter has to do is lay the bat over the plate and they get a hit off of his fastball.
