He left after only 4 IP - does anyone know if he got injured?

He had 8 strikeouts in those four innings though 4 runs scored, all I can find about it is an offensive substitution in the fifth with Edgar Gonzalez replacing him.

Padre's website just said that he was ineffective. If he was taken out because of an apparent injury, I'm sure they would have mentioned it. Keep your fingers crossed.

Gosh, cool your Jets. He had close to 90 pitches, was pitching poorly, and there were 2 men on with 1 out. It was a chance o really score runs, so they pulled him for a real hitter to try and tie the ganme up. Calm down.

I hadn't realized that I wasn't calm...

Two points...

1. Peavy has been as hot with the bat as any Padres hitter. I think he has an RBI in every game he's pitched.
2. It is a rarity to take your ace out of the game if he's not totally getting rocked...4 ER over 4 IP, its bad, but not quite getting rocked.

So, short story, I remain perfectly calm, just curious as to the status of my pitcher.

He was getting lite up, cubs were seeing him well and they took him out cause of his pitch count and because they didn't want to risk having the game being blown wide open.
