I refused to draft Byrnes this year because 1. he would drafted way too early and 2. there would be a period where i could buy low on this guy. I just picked him up off of the FA list in my 10-team league. He is coming off a career year where he was the FIFTH RANKED OF on Yahoo. Also, though he struggles more during the 2nd half, his numbers are still very helpful to a fantasy team.
In 2006, his numbers during the second half he was Chris Young going for 39 14 45 15 .243.
In 2007, he was Carl Crawford with a crappy average going 50 7 34 33 .258
Realistically, who would you guys be dropping him for? Milton Bradley? Joey Votto? No, thank you. I'd rather have my bench spot occupied by the guy with a reputation for being "streaky" and one year removed from a 100 20 80 50 .280 season.
