Priority one with catchers ought to be "First, do no harm." So many guys out there drag your average down everyday without doing a lot to make up for it. I have no problem taking DNPs on a guy who makes dramatic contributions when he IS in there. Sure it sucks when he's out -- but not nearly enough to consider bailing on him. Jeesh, every time you get a DNP from a catcher you're out-producing several of the teams you're playing against.
