Let's talk about Cardinals RP Kyle McClellan.

What do you guys know and what can you share about him? Is he the next "breakout" middle reliever a la Neshek, Broxton, and Heath Bell in recent years...?

I just picked him up myself in a holds league, where he's currently tied with teammate Ryan Franklin for the ML lead (12). Other numbers: 19.1 IP, 0-1, 1 SV, 16 K, 5 BB, 2.79 ERA, 1.19 WHIP.

Nearly a K an inning isn't bad at all for a MR who can keep ratios that low. Anyway, McClellan has a decent two seamer and good slider, but we're still looking at a small sample size here. As the season goes on and he racks up more innings on that arm, his control may slip. Ride him while he displays good command, then if you see his walks tick up dump him.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

If he continues to pitch well, in future years he will very likely move into a starter role. That is the goal at least. The same for Parisi who has just recently moved into the STL bullpen.
