Does anyone think he'll improve to the #2-#3 starter he could be? Particularly troubling is the collapse of his K numbers. In 2006 he had a very respectable 202 in 214 IP, but this year he has only 22 over 41 IP. What's up with this guy?

I dont think he pitched terrible today, even if the numbers do bear that. He needs to cut down on the walks. I'm hoping he can turn his season around and become a solid fantasy producer (maybe a 5 starter on your squad?)

He was then asked if he usually does, he said no. I think this is the problem with Bonderman, Verlander, and maybe Nate Roberson-they don't seem to have worked very hard to get better.

I wouldn't expect too much improvement from Bonderman unless the Tigers replace their current pitching coach.
That's a really interesting point- their pitching this year has just been disappointment after disappointment. At a certain point, you can't help but ask what's going through the pitching coach's head.
And can the same be said of the batting coach?
