what is going on with this guy? He has been a very good hitter year to year but he just doesn't seem to be producing right now. Any thoughts on if playing in a new league are hurting him?

i dont know about the league, but i think his position in the batting order could be hurting him. hes batted 3rd/4th for Florida in recent years, and now hes 5th in Detroit with little protection. ive been wondering wheather i should think about trading him while i still might be able to get 1st round value for him, or wheather i should just stick with him and hope he can finally break out. some of his deeper numbers arnt that different than recent years. BB%.. 08- 12.1% 07- 11.8% 06- 13.0% K%.. 08- 20.6% 07- 21.6% 06- 18.8% his BABIP is low.. 08- .276 07- .361 06- .382 but he also has a really low LD% 08- 13.2% 07- 20.7 06- 24.2 hes hitting more FB than usual.. 08- 42.5% 07- 39.3% 06- 35.3 and his HR/FB is down.. 08- 13.3% 07- 18.5% 06- 15.6
So a guy who is still ranks inside the top 100 fantasy players is hurting your team? I'd like to see your roster.... I know he hasn't been great, but his start won't inhibit him from reaching any reasonable projections for entire 2008 season.
A new team, new league, and a new position looks to have taken a toll on Miggy. Patience is the way. While he has done nothing to remind us of his old self he is still putting up cats enough to keep you sovlent until he heats up. Which should be pretty soon since Granderson, Polanco, and Maggs are heating up. Then look out, his numbers could carry teams for weeks at a time.
I have a great idea that I'd like to share. Now brace yourselves, because this could knock you over. IT'S EARLY MAY!!!! good hitters will hit. yes, it does happen. o.k., im out, because im still looking to drop Ortiz.
If you can get a good deal for him trade him, but you need another first round player probably. I'm holding onto him, it's still early and I have faith in him. The guy is just too good and that lineup is just too good. Leyland needs to motivate his team, they have to much potential. There is nothing worse than wasted potential. We've seen flashes of brilliance from that lineup, they're just not consistent.
Unless your getting back A-Rod or maybe Hanley Ramirez, I wouldnt trade him. He has the raw talent that is on par with A-Rod (probably actually better at this pt in their careers) and is just going through a slump. I have no problem waiting for him and not panicking. Stick with him.
He needs to pick it up. I have him as well. With a first round pick I expect him to hit .320+ , really need that high average to go with the power numbers since the 1 SB he has is likely all he will have.
