Yeah, but will he rebound?

Anybody think/know if he'll be back to speed before the break?

From RotoTimes:
May 22, 2008
Jason Isringhausen is scheduled to throw off a mound on Friday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He landed on the DL last Friday with a laceration and infection of his pitching hand.

Our View:Friday's session is considered the first step in what could be as much as a six-week rehabilitation from his hand condition and mental strain associated with a rough couple of weeks. Cardinals' GM John Mozeliak last week estimated the process would take two to six weeks. Manager Tony La Russa then voiced optimism that Isringhausen could be available after 15 days, but others within the organization have described La Russa's view as overly optimistic.

Why would it take 6 weeks to recover from a non-injury DL.....they just placed him there to get his head straight.

Hope no one minds; I stole this from the Closer's Thread. Thanks to StarsNPinstripes ;-D

Isringhausen to return as closer?
From St Louis Post Dispatch:

Closer Jason Isringhausen will continue his rehabilitation from a right hand laceration with a session against hitters today, his second throw and first against hitters since reporting to the organization’s Jupiter, Fla., minor-league complex last Monday.

La Russa recently described the timetable for Isringhausen as open-ended, comparing the reliever’s situation to Mulder’s. "You don’t want to (activate) him until he’s ready to pitch in his role," La Russa said.
