What does everyone think about him and is he worth a roster spot

What do I think about Jody Gerut? He is a 8-year minor leaguer that has been tearing it up in AAA and may come back into the bigs with decent numbers for about 10 games. There . . .that is as much positive as I can give him. Now for the negative. Why is he doing well in AAA? Because that is where he belongs - happy playing baseball everyday and getting paid for it. Don't be tempted if he gets a fast start because he is not MLB material and a player that will never find his way on to a fantasy team of mine.

Chase Headley will be the better choice between the two and should be called up soon.

I've seen Gerut play a couple of times here in Portland (Padres AAA team) & he looked pretty good.

With that said, he'll be platooning it sounds like plus he plays in a terrible hitting park. Plus, it's not like he ever tore it up in Pittsburg or anyone stops he's been.

I'd pass & maybe keep an eye on him if you're really interested.

He was a great looking prospect when he came up with the Indians here. I remember watching him and thinking he was going to be great.

The very next season he did pretty much nothing, and has been that way since.

Yeah, I remember after his initial callup with the Indians, everyone thought he might become a middle of the lineup hitter for them. Well, in an extended period of time, he did next to nothing. He is a quadruple A hitter if I ever saw one. Steer clear.
