So I currently hold Mike Fontenot on my roster as insurance since OHudson has been out for the past 5 days with a hamstring injury. Fontenot has been playing fairly well considering the amount of PT he has been receiving. However, I just noticed a recent callup for the Rockies, Jonathan Herrera. With Barmes moving over to play SS with Tulow in the DL, Herrera has been platooning at 2B with Omar Quintanilla.

Now, Herrera's minor league stats look pretty decent-->http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/H/jonathan-herrera.shtml. Good contact hitter with above average speed. I am wondering if you think Herrera might be worth a pickup over Fontenot or Shelley Duncan. I like what both Fontenot and Duncan bring to the table, but if they could just get some consistent PT, it would certainly make my life easier.

Thanks and feel free to leave a link!

P.S. While we are on the topic of minor leaguers, what do you guys know about Dan Meyer, Juan Gutierrez, Billy Buckner, Darrell Rasner(took a stab by adding him), J.A. Happ, Yusmeiro Petit, or Jeff Karstens. Also, do you really think Kei Igawa has finally gotten his control down to the point where he can be a serviceable fantasy starter?

i honestly dont know too much about most of the prospects you just named so its hard for me to answer... but im a yankees fan and can answer some questions about those pitchers

lets see Igawa.. i would rather have karstens or rasner in a heartbeat... honestly igawa has no place on a fantasy team.. did you see his last start? worse than kennedy so most likely kennedy will be back in the rotation soon.

rasner and karstens have done decently well in the majors and i expect to see them starting spot starts throughout the season in the majors
