Oswalt's value

What do you think Oswalt will do this year? He is getting a lot of hype lately. What round should I look to draft him in in a deep 16 team keeper league? Thanks.

it's hard to predict what round... but i would say that he should be taken slightly ahead of vazquez and beckett... or at least somewhere in between those guys.

In my league (slow draft), Vasquez is already gone. Is 3d round about right? 4th? Basically I want to know if he can be the ace on my team since most of my other choices are gone. Its a deep league with 16 teams so was trying to look ahead. Its also a keeper league (4 keepers) so Id be able to hold onto him in the future.

In a 10-team league, I took R. Oswalt in the 6th round.

Well hes the #1 starter for the Stros so Jimmy must have some faith in him. Dont know if hell be a 20 game winner though.

He's a great talent, but can't stay healthy. 16 teams, I'd say mid-4th.

To answer your question - Oswalt is definitely a decent ace for you team in that big of a league - end of the 3rd - start of the 4th rd is just fine to take him depending on the level of competition.

Oswalt - when healthy - is a stud. Simply look at his numbers. How many SPs out there can match that ERA, Whip, and k/9?

I agree with above. He's right on par with Vasquez and Beckett. He has a small frame so injuries are a concern. But think about the 38 games played against the Brewers and Pirates. Plus another 19 against the Reds.

i have oswalt as my ace on one of my teams, and im happy with that. this guy is ready to be a 20 game winner and i dont think his injuries are gonna bother him this year. he has the whole offseason to deal with that. the guy is an ace.
