Postby Guzman24 » Thu May 08, 2008 5:25 pm

I got to watch him behind the plate against the Pads and he didn't throw a lot of change ups except against lefties.

But yeah, his pitches were moving all over the place He broke 90 twice his entire outing.

Actually I thought it's been solid for a few years...I thought the jump in his K rate last year was correlated to the fact that he had started throwing more changeups and curves b/c he had improved both pitches.

He throws a changeup? I thought that his repertoire only consist of that nasty sinker! :-)

Webb is a freaking beast. I thought at the beginning of the year he would be in the discussion with Peavy and Johan and he's far exceeded just being in that discussion so far.

I agree. Lasy year he had five bad games, 3 of them at the beginning of the year against Colorado. For some reason, Colorado had him figured out on the road and at home. But, other than that he was lights out the majority of the season and if it weren't for those Colorado games he could have easily given Peavy a run for his money. This season it looks like he figured the Rockies out!

I believe his fastball IS his sinker. The bottom drops out of it like crazy.

He also has a curve which was his second best pitch last year.

It seems as if the change has now over taken the curve in his pitch repertoire. He's throwing a tonne more of them this year.

Its flat out filthy, the bottom drops out of it just like his sinking fastball yet its 15mph slower. If its down in the zone hitters have no chance. It makes them look foolish.
