Ok so I know he came to Texas in the Gagne deal, but is he good. Is he worth picking up? Is playing over his head? I cannot find any information about him. I know he was a first round pick of the red sox but thats it. Help me out.

I'd like to get some feedback on this too... he's been offered to me for JD Drew and I think I'd prefer his positional flexibility on my bench.

murphy has picked up where he left off last season and then some. I'm still not sure if the guy is anything more than a very good 4th outfielder, but so far he's shown no signs of really slowing down and i think the rangers will keep playing him almost daily until he does.
I do know hitting coach rudy jaramillo worked with murphy on not pulling so many pitches and hitting the opposite way more.

Thanks for the info. I will continue to keep a close watch on him.

there were some writers picking him as a sleeper before opening day. so it's not out of nowhere. he probably wont be anywhere near carlos pena status. but definatley more legit then the john bowker types.

Definitely legit. He's put up great numbers on a bad team and I see no reason for it to slow down. I just traded him and Uggla for Grady Sizmore, so he's getting respect.
