I gambled and lost big time this week: benched Sherrill (the O's only play five games this week) to start Kershaw. Kershaw doesn't get the call and Sherrill has two saves in two games.

Unless he is leading in SV and needed the W and K more. But if he is crying about SV, then he might not be leading that cat.

You're right, it doesn't make sense; but, I have two other good closers and wanted to go for the W and some Ks. Obviously I read too much into Joe Torre's comments last weekend and got caught up in the hype. My dissapointment in missing out on Sherzer probably clouded my judgement as well.
The smart thing would have been to pick up Kershaw and keep him on my bench but part of the fun of fantasy for me is doing the UNconventional thing once in awhile. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't.
