Are there any Barry Zito believers out there?

He's only 31, he had a decent 2nd half last year. I just can't think of any elite SP that got this bad this quickly who didn't have an injury (and Zito is healthy). I know his fastball is down, but he seemed to believe that his issues where due to location ... anybody think he can turn his ugly start around and finish with a respectabile record? He is now 0 - 7 ... maybe the worst is behind him? If he finishes the year 11 - 15 with a 4.5 ERA, that put him at 11 - 8 with about a 3.7 from here on out.

Clearly Zito's contract is one of the worst ever and it's easy to say that he is done ... but I kinda have the feeling he may be able to turn it around ... thoughts?

I believe that by simply considering drafting him with my last pick in one of my leagues, I have completely poisoned that team for the remainder of the season.

Luckily I only wasted that pick on Prior instead. I can only imagine the carnage that would have ensued if I had in fact added Zito to my roster. I shudder to think...

If I was the GM that signed him, I'd be looking for a new job.
