Weaver is hardly a stud. He did pitch a nice game tonight though.

I cut Weaver loose after this quote made me lose the remaining confidence I had in him:

"It's been one of those years so far. I set the bar too high, I guess," said Weaver, who tied the AL rookie record by going 9-0 to start his big-league career in 2006. "Everybody wants you to go 6-0 or 9-0 again. I said when I came up that I was going to pitch my game until they figured me out. I guess people are starting to figure me out."

You forgot to add the rest of the quote. He finished it with, "I'm going to have to change my approach and take it from there." It looks like his change of approach is working. His last 3 games he's gone 20.1 innings, 9 hits, 2 ER and 19 K's.

I, for one, am glad I held onto him.

Weaver has ridiculously good numbers against the White Sox, who he dominated once again for 8 innings today, after doing so for 7 two starts ago.

I think he's rebounding, but I'm not sure his 06 season was something he'll repeat. I'm glad to have him for now though. I'm just not so sure he's turned a corner.
