I think it's fine to drop him in standard leagues. i did the same in a deep 12 team mixed. he looks too hittable. I saw him pitch against the mariners earlier and his fastball was around 90, but I can't confirm if his velocity has picked up in more recent starts. I think he needs to be in the mid-90's to be more effective. I guess hitters have figured him out now that they've seen him for a full season+.

I dropped him in order to bring Kazmir off the DL. He was the weakest link on my team. Just wish I did it before his last outing :(

This guy, Jared Weaver, is a Long Beach State Dirtbag for Petesake! A Stud.....I went to CSULB and know the pride that comes along w/ being a friggin Dirtbag! Dropping him will be regretful....mark my words and feel free to bump this post in July.

I'm at the point where I'm not putting him in the lineup, but I want to hold out in dropping him for a little longer to see if he pulls out of this slump. If he does, he has some great stuff. Then again, I'm in a 16 team league, and there really isn't anyone better available right now anyway, so I might just be stuck.

I cut Weaver loose after this quote made me lose the remaining confidence I had in him:

I dropped his sorry ass about three weeks ago (10 team league) and haven't regretted it once. Apparently nobody in our league wants him either as he hasn't been picked up. I fall into this trap all the time, where I think a player on my team in better than anyone else thinks. You are so hesitant to drop him for fear that he gets picked up and goes off. If there is something else out there you want, drop him. He isn't a bog K guy or anything, so at most you are losing a guy that is mayube slightly above average.

Would anyone drop him for someone like M Garza or D Cabrera? Thinkin 'no'. Those are the best two SP's in my deep AL only roto non-keeper......
