I would compare Kevin Slowey to Andy Sonnanstine... they both have the really low BB rate and a decent K rate, making for a great K/BB. Both will also have a good whip in general, I'd say 1.2-1.3, but ERA will be high, at least 4.5 I'd say. HRs, through the roof too, neither can keep the ball in the yard.

Slowey was awesome in the minors. 0.43HR/9. Way over 2.00 in the majors I believe. Adjustment is needed.
his next start is at home on Tuesday against a weaker Toronto Blue Jays, who are now without Vernon Wells. is that a game one could consider picking up/starting Slowey? over his brief career he has been better at home (3.82 ERA/1.12 WHIP) compared to on the road (6.03 ERA/1.58 WHIP) next Tuesdays game is a night game which he is better in (3.48 ERA/1.07WHIP) compared to during the day (6.10 ERA/1.57 WHIP) his rough career numbers against the Jays (7.20 ERA/ 2.00 WHIP) was largely because of his numbers against Wells (3/3, 1 HR, 3 RBI) ..where against other Jays he has only given up 1 hit each to McDonald, Lind, and Rios. Slowey so far this season in the majors and minors has a problem with giving up HR's.. AAA- 5 IP, 2 HR Twins- 8.3 IP, 3 HR ..maybe thats because he is often around the plate? is he worth a pickup for the Toronto game? or even a standard 5x5 12 team league?
