In CF, yes he would be a liability. People don't just switch from being average being a corner OF to average in CF, doesn't happen.

Except statistically, he was an above average to well above average RF last year, and an average CF in the attempts he got. I do not believe he would be a liability, but I don't think he would be anything too special either.

yeah, I think he'd be fine in CF. He wouldn't necessarily help the team there but I don't think he'd hurt them there, either. The bonus they get from getting LaPorta into the lineup (assuming he's not Chris Duncan in RF) would ease that burden should he be a little less than average.
