I dont get it. Why is Andre Ethier on the bench. Should I drop him.

looks like torre is giving juan pierre the starting spott. not that you can blame him. Pierres hitting 316 with 11 steals.
the only shot eithier has is torre giving in and taking andruw jones out of the lineup. hopefully they just put him on the DL

im very frustrated with Ethier. earlier in the season when he was starting over Pierre i thought for sure this is Ethiers break out season. he was batting 3rd and for a stretch 2nd or 3rd in offence on the Dodgers. now it looks like hes a bench player :(
id love to see the dodgers trade Pierre while hes on this hot streak.
i think Torres screwing up with the batting order, its like hes pulling names from a hat with the numerous different lineups theyve had.
i have Ethier and im not dropping him just yet, but if he continues to simply be a bench player he might not be worth owning for very much longer.

You guys must be in fairly deep leagues I assume? In most leagues I'd say he's not worth owning. Below average power w/ very little speed.

Again, Torre has the enviable task (unenviable at the same time) to play the best OF combo possible. Pierre's still a showcase piece for trades, and if not, he's still valuable at the top of the order or wherever in working counts. He's actually picked it up of late like the other Dodgers (minus Andruw Jones) and perhaps merits a spot. That begs the question if and when Jones rides the pine more often to play Pierre back in center and Ethier in left.

As for Ethier's fantasy relevance, I don't think he brings a massive deal anyway, but could be a good source of 20-25 HR in deeper leagues. Torre has let the kids run some and that might mean Ethier squeezing out double-digit SB's by season's end. In essence, he's really a #3 OF at best, more like a #4.
