Scott Baker/Kevin Slowey

Anybody else carrying Baker or Slowey? In one of my leagues I'm carrying both since one of them is likely to occupy a DL spot by the end of this week.

The peripherals don't look too bad for either guy.

Baker- 4.26 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 3.52 K/BB about 6 K/9
Slowey- 4.73 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 4.27 K/BB about 6 K/9

Both of these guys throw strikes and, with only a modest improvement, could provide good value at SP, particularly in K/BB leagues.

Any Twins insiders have some insight?

I aint a Twins fan, but I might be able to give some input.......

I own Slowey in my Auction League, got him for $1, he is currently only owned by 12% of the CBS owners out there, rather low, but I like his upside. Has good command, doesn't really throw heat, but K'd 9 batters in a AAA rehab game last week.....Not a big fan of Baker, I think he is a total flyball pitcher. gives up his share of HR's....

was carrying baker, but i had to drop him since my dl slots are full. really liked him considering it was a bb/k league. gb% was ok, but he was giving up too many dingers. i think if the groin injury fully heals he'll have a fine second half of the season, probably 3.80 era and a 1.20 whip. not sure he can keep up the ks though.

Finally we get word that Baker's going on the DL. I guess I'll hang onto him until I can stash him.

Had both of them for awhile in a league. Just traded Baker before his last start however, so I dodged that DL bullet.

But, yeah, I think both of them look like they could be quality guys. I'm a little higher on Baker after watching him pitch however.. but Slowey hasn't had much chance to show me what he's got, so I'll reserve final judgement.
