My trade is getting shot down

Postby YerInUrine » Sun May 04, 2008 9:36 pm

My Carlos Lee & Mike Young
for
Reyes

The other team has checked his team about 3 times this year. Everyone has been complaining about his lack of participation. It is a pretty competitive league with the same 5-6 core managers every year. Some years we get some no-shows just to fill a slot.

I threw an offer at this manager and about 1.5 weeks later he accepts it. The argument behind this veto is that the new manager is throwing away his team. As much as this trade is in my favor, it is not outrageous. How can I persuade the commish to allow my trade to go through?

Try giving up less than CLee? I don't think the deal is that far off base, and while I see where they think they are coming from, I don't think the deal shold be disallowed personally...

Trade with someone who is competitive.

If the guy wants to deep-six his own team, that's his business. But if he just wants to check in and screw up the league, that's not something that's ok.

I don't think the trade is terrible, but I understand the logic of veto'ing it.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

I am trying to get a top SS. I have already offered half my team for Hanley with no results, and I actually offered more for JRoll than for Reyes. There isnt much else I can do, so I shot an offer out and waited.

I don't see that trade as remotely vetoable. Sounds like people just like to veto... :-t
