Well, a 12 team league with starting out Towles, Morneau, Figgins, Braun, Han Ram, Holliday, Corey Hart, Upton, Swisher, Hideki Matsui (now sheff), Carlos Pena, and then Lackey, Grienke, Harden, James Shields, Chris Young, Matt Capps, Huston Street, Accardo (now Acosta) that is now packing McGowan, Cueto and Owings would have looked damn good at the beginning of the year; and for the first three weeks I was steamrolling people. Just frustrating to drop a week 8-1 with a team like that because of slumps from everyone.
I shouldn't say perfect, but its one of those drafts where you look at it afterwards, and you think "wow, I'd have to be really unlucky to not at least make the playoffs with this". This of course was at the beginning of March, right before Lackey went down and leaving me with a slightly ragtag pitching staff (but SHields/Grienke/C Young is hardly ragtag for a 12 teamer.)
Don't you hate when perfect drafts give you no results?
Perfect draft would be you drafting everyone who's doing well and avoiding all the busts (all of your projections would have to have been spot on), meaning you'd be running away from the league.
Liking your draft and/or liking the "names" you drafted doesn't mean someone's draft was perfect.
Sounds more like a complaint about H2H leagues though, not exactly a draft complaint.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Sigh, I know no draft is perfect; but the ones you look at and are really impressed with how it turned out on draft day, and then it just doesn't pan out the way you were expecting due to busts and injuries?

This may sound weird, but I can't remember the last time I wasn't thrilled with a draft I had. So much work and preparation goes into the months leading up to my drafts, that I always hit the players I want (and if not, the next in line), so when all is said and done, I've got a team full of guys I want, and am confident. Then after Opening Day, all hell breaks loose, and little matters.
I do get the point you're trying to make, but I just try to be right more than I'm wrong and hope I catch a few breaks. I don't get overly worked up about any of my teams going into the season, because I expect to compete regardless of what I'm walking into; though that isn't always the case.

Sounds like you should be across the hall, in the Game Commentary, Cheering, and Venting, section.

Actually, I disagree. If you're sitting in sixth place after May 1st, maybe you're just as good as you thought you were. Let the dust settle.
