So, despite a ridiculous team in my 5x5 12 teamer that features both Hanley Ramirez and Matt Holliday, along with Braun, Figgins, Lackey, and Morneau. I got decimated this week and sit in 6th place through the first month. Everyone of my starters got worked this week, and I just got nothing out of my hitters. Carlos Pena has been dead weight, and nothing has gone right since dealing Matsui for Sheff and McGowan. I know its one week, but the fact that I got up to first place on the weaker teams in the league and then got pantsed by the first good team I faced doesn't make me feel very confident, despite my team :\
There's no such thing as a perfect draft, only a best possible scenario for the time. Usually, hindsight is 20/20 in draft picks in the same range as your draft pick that perform relatively better and injuries, of course, are a massive factor.

Apparently this is a keeper league. Also, I agree with everything AD said.
I'm not saying anything about the players you have or your team in general, but when you're sitting in 6th place, maybe your team isn't as perfect as you think.
I thought I had nice drafts in all my leagues but I'm sitting on an average rank of 6 out of 12 but then again, the season is still young, players are yet to get injured, and somehow fantasy baseball will work its way into fruition.
I don't know why (seeing as I've had radically different teams), but for the past 3 years I've started out slowly in my main $$$ league only to surge in the 2nd half, both years going from the basement in June to 2nd place by season's end. In 06, I actually took 1st place on the second to last day of the season, but slipped back down to 2nd on the final day. That one stung a little...
Honestly though, I think it was great that it happened this way because it has really turned me into a patient fantasy player. I'm also sitting in 6th right now, and I am not worried in the least. I know my slumping/injured stars (Howard, ARod, Posada, Verlander, to name a few) will turn it around, and I'm sure yours will too. Just stay patient, don't do anything rash, and work at plugging any holes that may still be there when your team is firing on all cylinders. You just need to realize that not everyone plays their best ball in April, and that applies to fantasy players (to some extent) as well.
