Man, this guy is just carrying my 10 team league. I have in all my leagues, him and Carlos Lee, because they're very consistent hitters. He's on pace for 52 homeruns, but what do you think the odds of him mirroring his 2006 season? I think they're pretty good. The lineup around him is pretty good and I think he can post some big RBI numbers this year.
From what I remember, his first half slump was attributed to Berkman getting jammed often to hit groundballs. He turned the corner in the second half and posted his usual gaudy power rate. I thought Berkman was safe to pencil in for 35 HR, 115 RBI going into this year, but he's on pace to be as good as his '06, which is why he was perfectly deserving of a mid-2nd round pick. It also helps when you have Michael Bourn (when he's on base) and Miguel Tejada to give the opposing pitcher something to think about.

Berkman .320 avg 120runs 130rbi 38 Hr's 15SB's but 1b-OF
vs Furcal .300 avg 130 runs 65 rbi 15 Hr's 35SB's but SS
this is such a tough decision
If those are your real projections, then the choice here is easy for me. You're talking about getting an additional .020 AVG, 23 HR, and 65 RBI at the expense of 20 SB and 10 R. As long as your replacement level SS can bridge that gap, you come out on top. Again, provided those are your actual projections.

I'm gonna go ahead and go out on a limb here, and say Furcal isn't hitting those stats!! In fact I think you're overshooting Berkman a bit too. Having said that, I'd definitely take Berkman for Furcal.
I think Berkman is doing what everyone thought he'd do when we drafted him. Having Tejada in front of him really helps. I think 35 HR's and 120 RBI is reasonable at this point, which is what I was hoping for when I drafted him in the 3rd round!!
if you look at berkman's stats year to year you'll see that he always alternates a bad season with a good one. last season he underperformed, so of course this season he's gonna be a monster.
