As long as he keeps hitting home runs (3 consecutive games with a long ball), there will be no complaints from me. If he has SB opportunities, he will steal, so I'm not worried...

0 attempts in 22 games now...1 attempt in his last 35 games. I don't understand why everyone seems to think he's still a threat to hit 30 stolen bases. He's shown absolutely no interest in even trying. Drew seems just as impatient as Byrnes was, hitting behind him, so it's not like he's suddenly going to go off on a mad stolen base streak.

And yeah, I'm just frustrated because I was really counting on him for some bases this season...

I know what you are saying, I drafted him partly for his steals but I'm happy with his HR and the fact that he is getting more walks(OBP a Category in my keeper league). Hopefully the steals will come, I'm sure they will.

Amazing, he decided to end his month long streak of no steal attempts by being thrown out tonight. I'm looking forward to his next attempt (hopefully successful), sometime in the 3rd week of June.

Stealing third is quite a bit harder than stealing second IMO. And if you look at his splits he stole a majority of his bases in the second half :-)

Nearly 30 games later Young tried to steal another base tonight...against a knuckleballer...and was thrown out. It's less annoying now that I traded him away but still...wow.

Yeah, Wakefield gives up all kinds of SB's. And the Dbacks didn't steal one!! Of course they barely had any baserunners either. Young has been an enigma this year. I was expecting a little more SB's than he's provided!!

From Rotowire:

Young has stolen just five bases through 96 games this season after stealing 27 in 148 games in 2007.

"I have to get a little better about making sure we push the envelope a little more," manager Bob Melvin said of the team's overall inactivity on the basepaths. "To this point I probably haven't been as good at that as I should be." Last year, Young's power and speed were enough to overcome his .237 average for many owners, but his homers and steals are well behind the 2007 pace and he'll be pressed to land in the 20-20 club by season's end.

He swiped a bag this evening - Looks like he will be getting the green light more often from now on

Many thanks to Soty for the Sig
