Hill walked four in the first inning Friday before manager Lou Piniella pulled him. He walked 18 batters in 19 2/3 innings with the Cubs. Hill will remain at Triple-A until he shows some signs of confidence and maybe a pitch that doesn't look completely flat. The Cubs promoted Sean Gallagher who will immediately be put in the rotation. Sean Marshall is being overlooked yet again. May. 3 - 3:00 pm et
In one league I got him off waivers when he was struggling and now he's a minor leaguer. I guess guys who took Liriano and Hill as their 2/3 starters must be reeling.
Gallagher? What about Lieber? He has a 1.86 ERA and 9:2 K:BB in long relief, and his last full season with the Cubs brought a 20-6 season. Granted, that was 2001, but he also had solid numbers with the Phillies in his last full season with them.
