So with all heard so far the $64,000 question is:
Is Clayton Kershaw worth the #1 waiver claim?I say
YES! - that's
one - next vote/yes or no?

Max with another solid outing, looks like the defense didn't help.

Considering at least in Yahoo leagues that there really isn't anyone else worth using a waiver claim on except maybe LaPorta if he comes up or Price if he is healthy enough to get a September call up, Kershaw is probably the best use of a waiver claim if you passed on Scherzer.
I do agree with some of the other posters in that I think Kershaw would be comparable to a Felix this year. He doesn't have as much pro/college experience as guys like Lincecum/Scherzer, so the polish isn't there.
He has a very high ceiling and a great repertoire, but I think he is probably at least a year or two away from being that true #1 ace.
But like I said, there aren't really a lot of other intriguing possibilities for that waiver pick at this point.

I got Scherzer with the number five waiver in my league so I'm pretty much out of the Kershaw sweep stakes if he gets called up. There's only a few experience players in my league, so maybe my friends won't notice when he gets put on waivers, but I doubt it.

Kershaw isn't going to pitch that many innings; I think he is being a bit overhyped. Sure he's a great prospect, but for this year at least I don't expect him to completely transform a pitching staff because the Dodgers are guarding his arm so much. Worth a pickup however if you have a complete rotation as is, don't go out of your way for him.
