Terrible blow, both for a promising young starter and for the Brewers chances. At least it's not an arm injury, hopefully he'll be back strong next year :,-(

Ouch, that's really a shame...hope he recovers quickly, I like watching that kid pitch (and hit for that matter).

The Ben Sheets disease seems to have spread to Gallardo :-o :-° . Tough blow for him and the team, he really seemed primed for a nice season. So, back to Dave Bush for the Brewers?

I would say the chances are very slim. Have you seen the video of the injury? Ugh, looked terrible. I can't believe he pitched another inning, he should teach Sheets how to take the skirt off.

The bummer from a Brewer fan's perspective is that this was in all likelihood the only season that we were going to be able to have the 1/2 combo of Sheets/Gallardo (assuming Sheets doesn't get hurt, a fairly big assumption). Yo's gonna need to get healthy for next year and be ready to be the opening day starter, the team ace.

Great job by Ned Yost once again letting him pitch the 6th with a torn ACL. Not like you want to protect the kid or anything considering he just came back from knee surgery. :-°

The Brewer's fans comments on that page are hilarious.

Well, in Ned's defense (and I defend him very rarely), Gallardo stated he was okay and the trainer cleared him. Could Ned have made an executive decision to pull him anyway? Perhaps, but I don't think I can really blame him too much for this.

Another Brewer fan made a decent point -- this team's 4 games over .500, Yo has only pitched in 3 games so far, and in those games we were 1-2. So we've been good to this point without a big impact from Yo (win-loss wise anyway, the way he's pitched he should be 3-0). If the offense hits like it should (it really hasn't yet), Parra steps up a bit and Sheets stays healthy (the big "if" right now), we still have a chance. Still, I think the Cubs got a big head-up in the division because of this.

I had him on all of my teams. :~(

Props to ESPN for putting him on the DL already.
