I don't think that it is spectacular in regards to being revolutionary, but it is a very fun game for sure. I think most of the ratings in the mid 8s were a bit harsh - I would give it a 9.0-9.1 personally. A very fun game with pretty decent depth and fun looking online play. Not a whole lot of anything new is the only thing that holds it back from a higher level, but in a way I can't blame them for sticking mainly to what works.

I think GTA is the obvious game of the year to this point, but I will certainly make time to pop this one in regularly as well ;-D

I bought GTA this week, so Mario Kart will have to hold off for a while. I am a bit skeptical about steering with the wiimote as the motion controls seems to not be tight enough to be able to drive well.

I played it this weekend, fun and addicting as always. Pretty much the same game as the GC version, but with more levels and online gameplay. The power slide feature has changed sowewhat which has taken some getting use to. You no longer have to slide the joy-stick back-and-forth as you hold your slide. The boost is determined by how long and how hard you hold the slide. There are now 2 seperate power-sliding boosts. Also, there is a drafting capability which is a nice new feature, which makes it easier to pass without getting a box. I recommend it ;-D .

I must have played atleast 10 hours of online gameplay this weekend X-I . It's really fun to go up against the best players and see everyone's different characters. I play as Youk (in honor of Kevin Youklilis in all of his greatness). It appears that the motorcycle is what all of the best players use because of it's high top end speed. I tend to like the traditional karts with the better handling but it is definitely a hindrance going up against the better players with that kart.

If you don't have it I would highly recommend picking it up. I think Koopa Cape is my favorite new level, lots of interesting terrain.
