I guess the job is rightly all Kemp`s now---he made player of the week.

Ethier is the dude who is getting dissed now.

^^^it def. does seem like ethier is the odd man out...and with the way juan pierre has been playing in his past 4 starts...it doesn't look like he's getting on the field everyday anytime soon...although being an ethier owner i hope torre finds a way to get him in...looks like it's time to go pick up pierre for insurance.

friends of mine in my league asking me all April, why you holding onto Kemp. he doesn't ever play...etc.

This is why.

Now I'm getting offered trades for him.

I find it pathetic that a good deal of folks who started panicking about Kemp not getting the PT a month ago (within Week 1 even) are the same folks raving about hanging onto him, that were just an eyelash away from dumping him if it weren't for some folks urging to keep patient. There was inherent risk of Kemp splitting time in drafting/reaching for him anyway and I don't see why that should cause widespread hysteria about it. Same for those folks who were extremely down on Billingsley last month. This is proof that you don't win leagues in April, but you could lose them with a little bit of haste.

I'm skeptical that Kemp's power will develop fast enough this year to get to 25 HR. He is only 23 and still working on pitch selection and making better contact. I think 15 HR with 25 SB and a 290-ish BA is more likely for 2008. He could reach the 20-25 HR plateau this year but I think that's more likely for 2009 or 2010.
