Rafael Soriano out for two months.

I just got word of this from my friend. I haven't found it on-line yet but he works for a newspaper and got it off the wire. Has anyone heard about this. (I know about the muscle pull - but apparently this is a shoulder injury).

As of reports from yesterday, the prognosis was that he would be out for one month, coming back two weeks before the season begins. It's his oblique muscle, not his arm.

Yes but HBJ mentioned that there's a new injury with his shoulder, hence the extended time missed.

I'm going to work shortly so I'll check the wire for anything when I get there.

rototimes says 3 weeks more...but nothing about a shoulder...

Feb. 25 Mariners manager Bob Melvin said that he was optimistic that Rafael Soriano (P) Sea might be able to return from a strained side in about three weeks. Melvin said "as long as we get him back in the 20s of March, we can get him ready for Opening Day." Whatever small chance there was of Soriano opening the year in the rotation is certainly out the window now (and he would have needed one of the top five starters to falter completely anyway).

mlb.com says one month. i have him on my fantasy team and i think im gonna keep him. the guy is what? 23-24 or something? his body will recover fine before the season. im not letting him go so someone else can take the chance and reek the benefits....id rather jus have him on my bench on DL.
