Hampton/Reyes/Bennett vs. Eaton--who knows/cares

Braves rotation is just a little below average I would say. And yes, this would be a shitty playoff rotation. The Braves beat-writer mentioned that Smoltz could possibly start in the playoffs and just pitch til his arm falls off--Smoltz is the type of guy who would do something like this too.

No.

Hamels > Hudson
Myers >>>> Glavine
Moyer << Jurijens
Then your right, who cares.

Atlanta has one ace (who has been off and on this season...did have a spectacular outing today v CIN) and then they are counting on Jurijens, a young unpredictable pitcher, to keep it up. PHIL rotation has a lot more stability, especially with Hamels and Myers. Those two along far outweigh the Braves shotty rotation. They need Smoltz as a starter.

Better stuff, yes. Better pitcher right now, no.
If Myers velocity doesn't come back then I say they are pretty close to equal.

I do agree that the Phils rotation is better though overall.

Smoltz's move to the pen has a direct impact on the Braves rotation. Looking at the Braves rotation sans Smoltz might give us a good indicator of whether or not he would stay in the pen. ;-D

Only news you need about Smoltz is that he sent a text msg to the local newspaper and said he would pitch out of the pen. What else do you need?

Those of you drinking the Jurrjens Kool Aid, let's wait and see how he fares against teams he has already faced. I think he is a fine young pitcher but I don't like his chances in that division. Even FLA is hitting well and he has yet to face PHI.
