I was thinking the same thing.
The trade was fine.
Depends upon the context of the league. But on a strict value scale, Pujols for Papelbon... not even. They live in different cities of Even. Papelbon has to cross two counties to get into Puols' county of Even.
Paps is an elite closer who will have over 100Ks this season and over 40 saves.
I'll bet you $100 Paps does not hit 100K's this season.
I'll bet you $100 at 3-to-1 odds (for you) that Paps does not do both 100K's this season and go over 40 saves.
Last year I traded Soriano for Rivera when all my closers went to hell. Guess it was a bad trade...oh wait, I won that league.
Good for you. This question isn't about you or your league.

Mostly. I'm fine with having the owners post their thoughts on the deal. And if the league accepts those reasons, then approve it. But it's a yes/no question... if the league is satisfied that the two guys aren't doing anything shady, then approve the deal as is. If the league does think that something shady is going on, then just adding a player that they think balances it out is not enough for a remedy.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.
