Scherzer has more polish since he has more experience at an advanced level. I keep hearing people say that he is better suited for the pen but I disagree. I never agree with scouts when they label a pitcher as better suited for the pen or whatever without seeing what he can do against big leaguers as a starter.
In terms of ceiling I would go with Porcello, Kershaw and Scherzer in that order. However, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
