Ronny Cedeño

Does anyone have any general info on this Ronny Cedeño? I'm looking for a short stop, J.J. Hardy isn't making the cut thus far. I read on yahoo notes he was just filling in for Theroit, but I've seen with Theroit back, they are still finding ways to keep his hot bat in the line up. Is his potential good enough that he's here to stay, or will a cold streak get him demoted? (I looked for a thread on this guy and didn't find one)

He should lose PT when Soriano comes back - DeRosa will shift back to 2nd. Although he is hitting well so I could still see him getting decent PT

Would he be worth picking up and playing at MI for week 5 over any of the following players: DeRosa, Theriot, or Felipe Lopez?

His minor league numbers are mind-boggling, to say the least. I picked him up on those alone...

Cedeno has a lot of talent, no doubt. But he is playing in a clogged infield, with DeRosa, Theriot, and Fontenot fighting for time. I think Pinella will be inclined to give the most time to DeRosa, the veteran with the biggest paycheck. And bear in mind that Cedeno has had a full season in the majors (2005), batting .245 with 6 HR's in 151 games, 534 AB's. This is not to say that he can't perform or that he won't get playing time. All I mean is that IMO he's not worth the gamble just yet.
