Noticed Carlson got the save for the Blue Jays today, while BJ Ryan pitched the 8th.
Since being called up to the show, Carlson's been quite impressive posting a 1.42ERA, 0.77Whip, .167BAA, with 15 K's in 12.2 innings of work.
I'm not convinced by any stretch that today's move means he's taking over the closer role while Ryan works himself back into shape.......but I do suspect that he'll be taking over the set-up duties from Accardo, while getting the odd save on days they wish to rest Ryan.
I think he's a very solid pick up for those of you in leagues that count holds......and a guy to keep an eye on for those in need of closers.......as he may get the role should Ryan be ineffective or need more time than expected to get his game back.
