Zito will inevitably be moved back into the rotation, but can he spin any kind of turnaround? He can't just be terrible now, can he? He's only 29! Almost 30, I guess... like two weeks.

We all know he logged wicked innings early on in his career - six straight seasons of 213 IP or more from 2001-2006.

Is there no hope? Someone give me a reason to believe, because I want to! :~(

Pat Misch will be starting for him in Philly this weekend. I do not know if he is replacing him though.

More on Zito:

Bochy would not give a timetable for Zito returning to the rotation. Left-hander Pat Misch, who relieved Zito on Sunday and threw the final six innings, will take his rotation spot and start Friday in Philadelphia.

Because of upcoming off days, the Giants don't need another starter until May 10. For now, with Kevin Correia shipped to the disabled list Sunday, they're using a four-man rotation. They can't count on Noah Lowry anytime soon. The rehabbing lefty still hasn't begun throwing off a mound.

Bochy said Zito, who'll try to iron out his problems with help from pitching coach Dave Righetti, won't be available for relief duty until the series in Philly.

As of right now, I'de start Rob Nen over Zito.

He needs to fine tune his "soft pitching." I gave him one too many chances to get himself back in gear and he flopped every one of them.
