so, did I make a good trade?

I mentioned in another thread that I was trying to trade Ausmus and a pitcher for Barrett. The trade ended up being:

Brad Ausmus, Vladimir Nunez, and Darryl Kile
for
Michael Barrett and Odalis Perez

Did I let him get away with robbery? Basically, Kile has underperformed, and has been in the middle of a pack of starters for me that includes Matt Clement, Brett Tomko, and some others (i.e. a bunch of halfway-decent starters but nothing too special - Ishii is the "ace" of my staff), and Ausmus has done nothing for me offensively. Kile's place on the roster will be taken by Mark Prior or perhaps one of the other phenom pitchers that are being called up.

Barrett has been slumping lately, but has been golden for most of the young season. To me, it looks fairly even, if you include Prior in the calculations.

The league, BTW, is head-to-head, points, 10 team, NL-only.

This is a trade that won't pan out for weeks to come.

If you look at it status quo.

Barrett is an upgrade from Ausmus. He is batting cleanup, and he has alot of potential. Will he live up to it? We shall see.

Perez is pitching like a STUD, but he hasn't pitched an entire season yet.

Nunez's stock is growing b/c the Marlins are playing so well. Kile will probably start coming back to form when the Cardinals staff is healthy and he and Morris aren't trying to carry the load.

So, in my opinion, at this moment, you get the better part of this trade.

But, Fantasy baseball is a long distance run, not a sprint. So the real answer here is dependent on potential and who lives up to it.

Yeah, but I really think this was a good trade for you... I love Perez' stuff and Ausmus never has been a great fantasy player!
