Weird question, but as someone who doesn't watch White Sox games, why is he getting beamed so much?

Because he sticks his body over the plate.

Still hitting the long ball, I think 40 HRs for the season is a pretty good bet at this point.
Absolute thanks to soty for the sig.

What a great surprise to my fantasy team
It seems like he's a legit option to keep this type of pace (maybe not 40HR every year, but 30+) in the years...decent K/BB ratio for a power hitter.
Thoughts on his chances to repeat in '09?

In addition to his nice K/BB for a young player he has been very consistent. He has hit 7,7,5,9,6 (august) home runs in the months since starting the season. His lowest BA posted was .266 for a month, with .275 another month and no other months under .290. This consistency means there is little chance of this being a fluke. Further, his .285 BABIP and 21.3% HR/FB do not give great cause for alarm due to luck or unsustainable performance. This is why he's a great keeper prospect especially if he is undervalued coming into next season.

I won't bet on him to hit 40 HRs again next season, but I think 30 HR is reasonable.
EDIT: And yes, I think I did just declare that I considered him a lock for 40 HR this season...

Not good... looks like he is done for the season. I could have really used him in the playoffs...
