Where does he rank among pudge, piazza and posada? Any predictions on his stats? What round to draft him in?

hes behind posada and piazza and in front of pudge in my opinion. What round? I'd say prolly around the 6th to 8th. He could go earlier tho in some drafts depending on peoples opinions of his performance.

7th / 8th round sounds about right.

Posada and Piazza are the only 2 ahead of him. His numbers will drop but not significantly.

If he has 10 less Runs, Homeruns, and, RBI's than last year, which would give him these numbers 79R,33HR,99RBI I would be happy to have him on my team, and rank him in the top 4 catcher catagory.

I believe Justin has it right.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

positional guys in our draft always go earlier... I believe it is due to the fact that we require 2 players at each position so they are under the assumption they better get at least one top guy otherwise end up with damian miller and brent mayne...

Is this the right or wrong way to think given my leagues roster requirements?

Thanks for the input!

You guys have Javy Lopez in front of Pudge? LOL.

Adding Tejada to the O's is a far cry from the blistering support he had in the ATL. I'll take Pudge's proven year-in year out #'s over Javy's one good year anyday. (And I'd put Pudge in front of Piazza too.)

Pudge in front of Piazza?? NO way. Sorry don't see it.

Maybe if Pudge played with a better lineup but to put him in front of Piazza as a Tiger is a Fantasy Mistake.

Pudge and Posada are easily in front of Piazza, who has been terrible for the last two years and was starting to slide before that. Maybe if Piazza could get out of New York, preferrably to the AL where he could DH once in a while...

Pudge was, I believe, 2nd in AB's for catchers last year (behind LoDuca, who is probably being underrated this year and could be a good late-round pick behind the plate), and being in the AL this year will only help that.

Sporting News has Piazza rated 11th, at $10 projected value. I've always been a big Piazza fan in the past, but at this point, his value looks to me to be the same as Lopez and less than Pudge or Posada (that is, I have Piazza rated tied for 3rd, maybe slightly behind Javy).

As far as Javy and Piazza... I think Piazza has a higher upside, but Javy is probably a safer bet. If given the choice between the two, I'd probably pick neither, and hope one of them dropped to me the next round. Otherwise, I'd probably just wait until later in the draft for a LoDuca type.
