coming off his worst start (7bbs, yuck!), and yet to really make a splash. in leagues with small rosters (we carry usually a total of 4 SPs per team), is it time to consider pulling plug or is that panic move?

my league also uses 9 cats for pitching...W-L-S-CG-SHO-BB-K-ERA-WHIP...so his high BB total hurts doubly.

with all the "Breakout is coming" hype...i dont wanna blind myself to a player that is simply dragging my team down, as his starts have been.

I dont know if you watched the game but..his stuff is filthy..he walks guys but never that many. I would keep him

I've actually been trying to buy low on him in my 12 team league but the other manager says he wants to see another start or two before making a move. Of course, I also have Billingsley right now so I may want to reconsider my interests in McGowan if he doesn't settle down soon.

I'm also trying to buy low on McGowan. His next start is against the Sox though, so I'm hoping for one more below average start before making offers

Talk about "buying low"... I just picked him up off Waivers in my league (with the #6 WW slot)!!!

No way I'm cutting this kid loose yet. I'm going to sit him until he has a good start, but he's definitely not going to get cut off of my team.

(Best part about this is that I traded him away earlier this year in a Carlos Pena/Kevin Gregg/Dustin McGowan package for Tony Pena and Carl Crawford... now I've got him back for essentially nothing, cutting Tony Pena to get him.)

He was fantastic to close out the year last year. I'm sure it's tough to hold on to him with your limited roster size, but I think it will bite you if you cut him.

Bench him until he starts putting up better lines (or has a cupcake matchup).

thx for the input...i bought into the hype in preseason and guess im gonna hold onto him for a bit & just spot start him. hard to hold a guy who is "figuring things out" when we have such small rosters (avg team in my league carries 4 SPs or less), but dont wanna be THAT GUY who dumps the breakout player right before he breaks out.

Long term, McGowan has more value but with any trade offer for Utley, its gonna depend on who you are offering along with Marcum (or McGowan) to get Utley. Utley is playing out of his mind right now...
