Wouldn't batting leadoff give him a better chance to reach 35 HRs since he will get more plate appearances?

I don't think they are trying to turn him into your traditional high-contact leadoff hitter, they just like him up there because of his high OBP.

i drafted him expecting a great OBP 110 runs and 30-35 hr. his avg has been going downhill and his power hasnt shown up yet. i still like his potential atop of this order, and its still early, but id like to see some more production.

Why? The guy is getting on base at .400 clip this season.

Disappointed in him and have had him on bench last 2 weeks, doesn't help I have a big OF.

I think he'll run hot-and-cold a lot ... a lot of folks overpaid a bit in the draft, but I think when the sample size on his home/away splits gets bigger, he might get to be a really good option coming in and out of your bench.

1B/OF eligibility is nice, too, and even when he isn't hitting, he's scoring runs at a great clip.

As a leadoff man more so than any other spot in the batting order, it doesn't matter whether you walk to get on base or slap a single. Swisher has gotten on base in something like the last 9 of 11 games or something through pretty much an equal number of hits and walks.
