Anyone know what is wrong with this guy?

He was leading the DBacks in almost every offensive category in the spring and was my sleeper at Catcher after Salty got sent down. Will he come around? Is he worth owning? Gets majority of starts, but really stinks offensively.

Other slow starters RHernandez(Bal), Johima(Sea) are on the ww in my league and surprising Mathis/Napoli and Kendell are also available (and Salty may get called up soon ). How does Snyder's long term compare to these guys?

He did get a big hit last night but Montero is due to return shortly. Given the D'|Backs are playing SOOOOO well his dreary hitting hasn't been a concern. However, going forward I can see Montero getting a decent chance to take over the role as a split starting catcher. This may resemble what Pitts is doing with Doumit and Paulino. Given you have solid option available (Unlike myself) I would be inclined to grab whichever of those FA catchers that are available. For me, it's the trade route or keep him in one league to see how this will play out over the next month.

Wow I would definitely take Johjima over him, I'd say Johjima's average production is around where Snyder's ceiling is. I have to hold onto him b/c I'm in a 2-catcher league where the only options are Josh Bard and worse, but in your format I'd definitely jump on Jo (or even Mathis).

Nothing is wrong with him. That was spring training. ST #'s don't mean squat.

I think Snyder's been getting unlucky thus far. He is showing pretty good discipline indicators, with 10 BB in only 51 AB. Unfortunately, he's also K'ed 15 times and hasn't hit a homer, which is naturally going to result in low averages. I expect he'll heat up, since the BB:K ratio demonstrates he's still seeing the ball pretty well. Expect him to make a leap up to good production pretty soon--I could see him getting .270/14 HR/55 RBI/50 R the rest of the way.
