Could Moises Alou transition to first base?

Carlos Delgado is just incredibly awful there and something needs to be done. It will hurt to take Pagan's bat out of the lineup once Alou returns. It would be nice if Alou could learn about playing first base while rehabbing because who knows, maybe staying away from the outfield can keep him healthy for longer than 2 month stretches.
